Chevron Oronite Company is accepting online applications for the position of Construction Representative / STO Planner located in Belle Chasse, Louisiana through March 26, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. (EST).
This position is responsible for the planning, scheduling and resource coordination of construction activities for Chevron Oronite's Oak Point Plant; ensuring all activities are executed in a safe, healthy, environmentally responsible and efficient manner. This will include assigning work activities to support execution schedules and monitoring/reporting on progress.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Monitor Construction jobs to ensure installation is per design, construction drawings, and procedures.
Act as liaison between Engineering and Contractors. Work with both groups to ensure projects are completed on time with minimal delays and extra costs.
Review and approve Contractors work permits
Review bid drawings and attend bid walks
Work with Operations to plan and ensure equipment is prepped for contractors
Responsible for overall health, environmental, and safety for Construction contractors
Work extended hours and weekends as workload dictates
Perform field walks to scope Shutdown maintenance work
Plan work orders by specifying manpower, material, equipment needs
Schedule work in a Shutdown window by assigning logic ties to milestones and work activities
This position requires driving on a routine basis
High school diploma or equivalent
5 years of electrical industrial/petrochemical construction / maintenance experience
Hands-on experience in an electrical industrial construction work environment
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to read and understand electrical and instrumentation drawings and mechanical, civil, structural drawings
Ability to read and understand P&IDs (Process & Instrument Diagrams)
Knowledge of electrical codes, OSHA regulations, industry construction standards
Ability to manage and lead multi-discipline project teams from the beginning of a construction project through commissioning and start-up
Ability to coordinate the work of a diverse group of both staff and contract employees in order to achieve desired results
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to give verbal direction to construction contractors along with the ability to resolve construction issues in the field
Ability to facilitate and document JSAs, safety audits, and constructability reviews
Ability to shut down construction work, without approval, when unsafe acts occur (Stop Work Authority.)
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word Excel, Primavera, SAP/Prometheus, Ariba
Ability to plan work orders in SAP and schedule work in Prometheus and Primavera
Ability to understand Primavera schedule logic and communicate float and variance to baseline project
Construction supervision experience is desired
Knowledge of Chevron specifications
Knowledge of Chevron's Safety in Designs guidelines
Knowledge of Oak Point's contracts system as well as Maximo purchasing and work order system
Knowledge of Chevron IMPACT Process
