The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) provides individualized, direct patient care of assigned patients under the supervision of a physician. The COA assists in the implementation and evaluation of the delivery of ophthalmological care services. The COA also will work closely with the clinic manager in the implementation of policies, procedures and goals of the clinic.
Prefer 1-2 years college.
3 to 6 months related experience.
Current JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or candidate, CPR Certification as required by clinic policy,
Certified Medical Scribe in addition to JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or candidate preferred.
Must possess the ability to deal with staff, physicians, visitors, vendors, patients, and the general public in a tactful, diplomatic, and pleasant manner. Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and retain confidentiality. Must be capable of clear and timely written/verbal communication with peers, professional staff, physicians, and management.
