Volt is looking for a Project Scheduler for one of our clients in the New Orleans area. Do you have experience developing and maintaining project schedules? Responsible for project scheduling, data preparation and collection for one or more projects.
Interfaces with other departments to prepare cost justifications, recommend priority and generate schedules.
Ensures completion of detailed schedules for projects and keeps management informed of any deviations.
Monitors status of projects including: cost, timing, and manpower loading.
Incumbents in the position are typically responsible for scheduling and tracking/preparing data for one or more projects.
Assists project management and technical staff in the development and preparation of schedules that represent the planned application of resources and facilities to accomplish specific projects and tasks.
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Exercises independent judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Personal judgment and performance may affect the cost, schedule and quality of project.
Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4+ years’ experience.
Responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules for key programs with MS Project.
Schedules will need to be set up with version control to easily enable 'scenarios' to be played, thus adjusting the entire schedule. There will be multiple projects within the programs. A program schedule will also be required.
Tracking Labor Costs
Excellent project scheduling skills required.
3+ years project scheduling experience with MS Project both at the individual level and at the enterprise level.
Experience with MS Project 2010 and PWA is required.
4+ years of experience working on projects and programs, with at least 2 years serving successfully in positions as task lead experience.
Strong communication skills: writing, listening, speaking, comfortable communicating in front of all levels within the organizational boundaries including customers.
Experience providing status reporting to customers or high levels of management.
Analytical skills, able to define root cause, decipher through multiple factors pertaining to issues
