LCMC Health Strategic Planning Analyst in New Orleans, Louisiana

Position Summary:
In coordination and consultation with the UMCNO Vice President – Business Development—and working with management and staff affiliated with UMCNO’s financial services, quality and marketing departments—the Strategic Planning Analyst will be primarily responsible for coordinating activities attendant to UMCNO’s business planning initiatives. Responsibilities will include, among other assignments, data analysis; compilation of presentations; and development of monthly reports for purposes of monitoring and trending key performance indicators.

Education Required:
Eligible applicants must have a baccalaureate degree in business, accounting and/or finance. Individuals possessing a graduate degree (Master of Healthcare Administration and/or Master of Business Administration) are preferred.

Required Experience:
Eligible candidates must have a minimum of 2-3 years experience working in a healthcare-related field. Knowledge and insight of healthcare finance and federal public policy preferred.

Position Description:
In consultation with the UMCNO Vice President of Business Development, and, when applicable, the UMCNO Financial Services department, the UMCNO Business Development Analyst will be responsible for coordinating, and completing each of the following:

  • Development of monthly written report(s) focused on state and national level healthcare matters impacting, or having the potential of impacting, University Medical Center operations. The monthly report should be compiled and distributed to the UMCNO administrative leadership team.

  • Assist the Vice President—Business Development compile and monitor progress toward the objectives and initiatives contained within the UMCNO Business Plan.

  • Compilation and management of the UMCNO tactical plan(s) working in collaboration with identified UMCNO service line physician directors; tactical plans are to be updated and scored quarterly.

  • Performance of routine and ad-hoc market analysis; patient demand analyses and department-specific operational reports;

  • Evaluation and reporting of monthly hospital level and clinic statistics to University Medical Center’s administrative leadership for review and response.

  • Compilation of presentations for use by UMCNO leadership

  • Attending and staffing operational planning sessions related to programs or initiatives contained within UMCNO’s Annual Business Plan

  • Development of meeting material attendant to UMCNO’s Annual Physician Business Planning Sessions
