Role Summary:

The Winder A performs difficult operations, such as rewinding, repairing, reassembling and testing large-sized DC armatures, AC stators, rotors, etc.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Winder A, you will:

  • Perform operations such as rewinding, repairing, reassembling and testing large-sized DC armatures, AC stators and rotors, etc.

  • Perform related duties, as assigned, such as assisting on the larger or more complicated units

  • Dismantle and repair commutators and collector rings, as well as band rotating equipment

  • Direct others


  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience winding AC and/or DC armatures from 5 HP to 1,000 HP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to travel to job sites and complete overnight stays

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, various shifts, holidays, and weekends

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong mechanical skills

  • Ability to read and interpret winding connection drawings

  • Experience winding field coils

  • Self-starter able to work with minimal direction

  • Willingly accepts job challenges

  • Experience with Health and Safety programs
