Human Resources Analyst - Benefits & Compensation
- Under minimal supervision, this job assumes responsibility for the coordination of benefits and compensation related tasks and activities. Provides recommendations to the HR Director on compensation and benefits philosophy and practices. Handles the coordination of data needs with total rewards consultants, brokers, trustees, and necessary legal assistants, as well as, process improvements with the external vendors and the benefits assistant. Assumes responsibility for collection of data needed to complete benefits and compensation analysis. Prepares initial drafts of written content for online, leader and employee communications and training in partnership with the HR Director. Provides professional level support in the design and administration of our compensation practices, policies and programs including data preparation and analysis. Provides support and problem resolution to leaders and staff. Ensures that the SMH compensation administration program provides for internal equity and market competitiveness within the organizations budget. Responsible for all other employee benefits, including the SMH Employee Deferred Compensation Plans, voluntary insurance programs and group term life and LTD and other benefits governed by hospital policy. Evaluates existing and new job descriptions and provides recommendation on job description content, job titling, FLSA status and market value. Participates and completes annual market salary surveys & loads survey results into external Compensation Data Solution System. Works closely with HR Team and leaders to assess organization need and advise on the compensation philosophy and the application of compensation policies and procedures. Assists in the preparation and coordination of benefits communications. Collects and confirms benefits data needed to complete costing, utilization and funding analysis. Compiles activity reports and completes basic control reviews on daily, monthly and ongoing benefits activity as assigned. Coordinates task activity to implement process improvements with external vendors. Resolves benefits issues by working directly with internal and external auditors to assure issues are logged and managed to completion.
Works with the internal HR Benefits representative to administer the ADA, FMLA, and Leave of Absence process. Preferred: Master's degree - in a Business, Human Resources, or other related field. Required: Bachelor's degree in a Business, Human Resources, or other related field. Preferred: Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) Required: none
